Dian Baker
Dian Baker is the School Nurse Program Coordinator and lecturer in the Division of Nursing at California State University, Sacramento. She currently teaches school nursing, community health, and pediatric assessment for the graduate program. Dian is also a PhD student in nursing at the University of Hawaii. She has over thirty years of experience as a pediatric nurse practitioner primarily in community-based settings for underserved populations. Dian recently completed work as the coordinator for a $9 million federal grant combining resources from the Departments of Education, Health and Human Services, and Justice to reduce health disparities and enhance educational opportunities for students in the urban areas of Sacramento. The grant applied principles of community-based participatory action to improve healthcare access and support youth development.
